Duties of the Lodge Officers

The fulfillment of the Duties of the Lodge Officers is important because it ensures the effective operation of the Lodge and a quality experience for all concerned. All too often, brethren view the duties of the particular office they fill as being Ceremonial only, and this can result in undue stress and frustration for the other officers and the members of the Lodge. Typically it results in a handful of brethren taking all of the duties on and as a consequence, burning out. The following “duties” of each officer are intended to ne a guideline for the Lodge to adopt, and where the Board of Management of the lodge decides to allocate the non ceremonial duties differently, it should be done so consciously and with intent so that all of the respective responsibilities are still fulfilled and the Lodge can function effectively.
